Buy a piece of Fine Art

I have always enjoyed fine art, and there is a place where regular folks can bid and buy Art, REAL ART, not that lame place EBAY. This is a place where you are likely to be bidding against collectors and art institutes. Bidding against… http://www.christies.com/ or some fine folks at http://www.metmuseum.org/ or other great places.

For just a few thousand US Dollars you can buy. I’m not bidding yet, but maybe next year I’ll buy something.

IRONMAN – The Movie

I’ve always been a fan of the Marvel Comic hero IRONMAN

Flawed but cool, rich, geeky, and has a mean streak. And they released another trailer. I gotta love that.

Goodbye to a Legend – Sir Arthur C. Clarke – Dies at age 90

I know I am getting old when my heros die. Sir Arthur C. Clarke was one of mine. He wrote stories that were marvelous, optimistic, and gave us a new perspective on the world. I escaped into his worlds. Reading his works will help you go there too. Do honor to his memory, read some of his works.

It is almost FAIR time! – The King Loves the FAIR

Every year the Queen and I go off to the fair http://www.mcfa.org/

Last year they had a baby Kangaroo, He was AWESOME, tiny, but VERY STRONG, his little hands had gigantic razor like nails, but he was very cool. He grabbed our hands and licked the salt off of our skin. The rest the animals in the petting zoo were very fun to pet and see as well. Also the RODEO was a good bit of entertainment. Even with all of that, I still don’t like the carnival rides anymore. Growing up sometimes makes you think about how poorly maintained those rides look.

Take some time, go to the Fair.

A KING needs Knights and Warriors for his Court

Since I am a KING I always like to have an armed group of Knights and Damsels in Dresses hanging out at the Castle. So you can get yourself decked out in the latest fashions, Swords, Helms, Shields, and other accessories from one of the best shopping places on the web.

Don’t forget to dress like a pirate, or a Viking!

Springtime – Pick the Wildwood Flower

This is the time when I think about the beauty of SPRING and remember one of our favorite songs, Pick the Wildwood Flowers, and a Spectacular Performer, Johnny Cash and Mother Maybelle Carter playing this classic beauty of a song. The other one I love is Gene Watson’s, but I haven’t found it where I could link to it.

So enjoy this one, and think of Texas Springtime, and Pick the Wildwood Flower!

Happy Birthday!

It’s the Chief’s Birthday and Alexander Graham Bell’s Birthday

Happy Birthday to them both, now that the phone is in our pocket we can see how far we can go with that technology, and the Chief is no where near the end.

Fun Video of “THE GOURDS” playing Snoop Dogg’s “Gin and Juice”

If you haven’t heard the Country/ Bluegrass merge of the Gourds check them out, they are a great band, you can catch them LIVE in Austin Texas. But this song is their version of a rap song by Snoop. I try to listen to this song every month. It reminds me that Style and Substance can come together from two different worlds and make something magic.
