Kangaroo!

Back on March 13th I said how much I love to Montgomery County Fair and Rodeo

Old Fair Post from the 13th

So of course we went last night on the March 29th, 2008. I have some great photos of the Little Kangaroo named Candy. Last year she licked my hand and grabbed me with her claws to hold me so I wouldn’t go away. This year I took some pictures to prove it!

Greensleeves Serenade – The King

I as a King love song, and Greensleeves is the Classic
This song has been remade with different lyrics over time, you will recognize the tune and think of Christmas songs and some other classics. But as always, the original is the best.

Plus just to laugh I also enjoy the Snickers Commercial

The Ultimate Digital Camera

The researchers at Stanford have developed a Digital Camera that has 12,616 lenses and can make an image that is 3D. They say it can be used for robotics, but think about the uses!

Philip Wong, Abbas El Gamal and Keith Fife are developing this digital camera, gotta give credit to these guys. I like the idea, I like the the device, and am interested in seeing an image reproduced after the picture is taken with the camera to see if they can make a 3D ouput.

Others are saying this camera may give robots better spatial vision than humans and allow them to perform very delicate tasks that at this time are beyond their abilities.

“People are coming up with many things they might do with this,” Fife said.

I’m sure they are coming up with many thing to do with it! <snicker> Some I don’t want to see!

Recommended Reading

I have a lot of books, most are pretty good. Some are entertaining, some are educational. One is worth having around in your pocket most of the time.

This book is a pocket reference for all sorts of interesting things (hence the perfect name of POCKET REF) it is filled with tables, maps, formulas, constants & conversions and covers Air and gases, computers, electronics, general information, geology, hardware, math, money, steel and metals, surveying and mapping, and weights and measures.

It is small (actually fits in a pocket) and so portable that you can find answers inside quicker than an internet search, and since it is so small you can use it in a toolbox, backpack, bag, glove compartment, keep one in your pocket! Very handy.

Buy a piece of Fine Art

I have always enjoyed fine art, and there is a place where regular folks can bid and buy Art, REAL ART, not that lame place EBAY. This is a place where you are likely to be bidding against collectors and art institutes. Bidding against… http://www.christies.com/ or some fine folks at http://www.metmuseum.org/ or other great places.

http://www.artnet.com/

For just a few thousand US Dollars you can buy. I’m not bidding yet, but maybe next year I’ll buy something.

IRONMAN – The Movie

I’ve always been a fan of the Marvel Comic hero IRONMAN

Flawed but cool, rich, geeky, and has a mean streak. And they released another trailer. I gotta love that.
